Surviving Hormonal Breakouts

Surviving Hormonal Breakouts

Hormonal breakouts are most certainly not just a teenage affliction. Hormonal acne can continue into adulthood, especially affecting middle-aged women.

Our hormones are largely in charge of what happens in our bodies, and it all happens behind the scenes. Hormones surge during teenage years and that can cause an increased production of sebum that begins the cycle of acne. For the breakouts that occur during the younger years there are a few important things you can do to survive the phase:

–        Reduce refined foods and drinks, avoid low fat dairy and foods high in sugar, because these can all increase the breakouts

–        Use SkinB5’s unique Acne Control tablets to help with the breakdown of sebum and hormonal fluctuations that occur in teenage years

As we get into our early 20’s however, our hormones should mostly have reached a stable point. If you are still experiencing breakouts in the 20’s, particularly around the chin for females, then you know that there is a deeper issue at play. This is where hormone balancing herbs can assist such as vitex angus-castus. Vitex is found in SkinB5’s Acne Control Caplets, and is specifically designed for hormonal acne & adult acne that is seen in the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and possibly beyond. Vitex is known as a hormonal modulating agent and the caplets are best taken in conjunction with the sebum & hormonal balancing nutrients also found in the Acne Control Tablets.

Studies has shown that stress is a major factor in hormonal acne, so a treatment regime that also focuses on stress management will be vital (Jafferany 2007). Our hormonal pathways require many nutrients to tick along like a nicely oiled machine.  When these are lacking the machine doesn’t run as smoothly as it should, and problems start to occur such as acne, menstrual problems and/or mood imbalances.

B vitamins and zinc are two important nutrients to help us fight our stress and balance our hormones. SkinB5’s formulas contain both B vitamins & zinc, which is why their products are so successful at treating the often difficult-to-treat hormonal acne.

It is important to remember that hormonal breakouts require treatment from the inside. Don’t forget these following points:

–        consume sufficient essential fatty acids for the production of your hormones

–        ensure your diet and supplement regime contains nutrients like zinc & B6

–        reduce any refined foods and dairy, particularly low-fat dairy

–        avoid sugar

–        drink lots of water

–        step-up the hormone balancing with a herb called vitex, found in the SkinB5 caplets.

–        manage your stress

“Our emotional stress can be shown on our skin for the whole world to see. Part of your treatment for any physical ailment should also be finding how to cope with the stress, beautiful friend, for that is the key to health inside and out.” Haley Yates
