Did you know the humble banana offers so many beauty benefits for skin? That’s right it is packed with minerals and vitamins such as potassium which helps hydrates dehydrated skin and B, C and E vitamins which help protect you from free radicals that cause oxidative stress and premature aging. And it also contains Zinc which fights acne causing bacteria, so let’s get baking shall we?
Prep time: 5 minutes Total time: 15 minutes
INGREDIENTS
- bananas
- cinnamon
- dark chocolate
- crushed nuts (hazelnuts, macadamias, almonds)
METHOD
- Preheat oven to 180° Celsius or 350° Fahrenheit to bake.
- Peel a banana and slice it in half lengthwise.
- Lay on a square of tin foil.
- Sprinkle with your choice of toppings such as cinnamon, dark chocolate bits, or crushed nuts.
- Wrap the foil around the banana to form a parcel, put on a baking tray and place in the oven baking for at least 10 minutes or until the banana is soft.
- Transfer parcel from oven to plate and allow to sit for 5 minutes before gently opening up the tinfoil and serving straight from it.
