Australian pharmacy staff, customers, product representatives and pharmacists will soon vote for their favourite pharmacy assistant and skincare company SkinB5 is sponsoring the fanfare.
The Pharmacy Assistant of the Year (PATY) award is presented by the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and AFT Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd. For 35,000 Australian pharmaceutical staff, it’s the premier achievement.
The award will launch at the Australian Pharmaceutical Professional Conference (APP) and Trade Exhibition, at the Gold Coast during March 9 – 12. SkinB5 is also sponsoring the conference and theatrette.
Nominations will open on March 9. Anyone can vote in the Australia-wide contest by visiting the PATY website, pharmacyassistants.com, and naming their favourite pharmacy assistant.
In this pharmaceutical environment, SkinB5 stands out as a sponsor purely dedicated to treating and giving advice on acne treatment.
SkinB5 combines TGA listed supplements and a topical range with healthy lifestyle tips using a broad network of social media, blogs, website information, customer and pharmacy support, and education.
The company provides its community with a holistic skin treatment philosophy, started by SkinB5 Founder and Managing Director Judy Cheung-Wood a decade ago.
The company believes in treating acne from WITHIN, exposing the body to the right nutrients and conditions for clear skin. This includes appropriate supplementation, a balanced diet, exercise and avoiding overindulgence.
Sponsoring the PATY award is SkinB5’s latest move to support the efforts of the pharmaceutical industry to help consumers improve their health and wellbeing. Currently, SkinB5 is working with pharmaceutical wholesalers Sigma and Symbion, who are also important APP sponsors, to increase accessibility of SkinB5 products.
The PATY aims to celebrate and reward the industry’s pharmacy assistants who provide a vast range of skills and services, supporting the crucial work of professional pharmacists.
Pharmacy assistants have long been the heart of a pharmacy’s operation. They connect customers with vital medicine while helping customers feel safe and welcome.
AFT Australian General Manager Calvin McKenzie believes assistants are also the face of any practice:
“Pharmacy assistants are at the forefront of community pharmacy – providing care, compassion and connecting with people to make a difference”.
Pharmacy assistants are also expected to be familiar with the aisles of medicine and treatment options in their pharmacy and give advice on what treatment is right for a customer.
Australian Pharmacy Assistants is itself a company associated with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and based in Brisbane.
After Australia votes, the PATY winner will be announced at the Pharmacy Assistant Professional Conference between October 26 and 28, also on the Gold Coast.
The 2016 PATY award saw over 580 nominations. The winner was Natanya McLenaghan of Aspley Discount Drug Store in Aspley, Queensland. 2017 will be the PATY award’s eleventh year.
